The avast Secure Browser Review an internet browser that places an emphasis on privacy and security, with features such as Bank Mode and Anti-Tracking Technology. It also comes with a VPN built-in, allowing you to access the internet quickly and remain secure. It is based upon Chromium. This means that it looks, works and supports Chrome extensions.
Avast Secure Browser comes with many privacy and security extensions already installed such as an ad blocker, an anti-phishing extension, one for the prevention of tracking, a fingerprint conceal feature, HTTPS encryption support, extension guard, password manager, and even the ability to verify your credentials on websites such as HaveIBeenPwned. You can access all of these extensions through the browser’s Security & Privacy Center. You can also configure each one individually, according to your preference.
The adblocker’s functionality is robust and can be configured to block all ads. It is also able to block flash data files, which helps pages load faster. The browser can detect websites that are phishing and warn you about scams that could be a possibility. However this feature isn’t as powerful than Google’s Scam Alert.
The browser claims to be “track proof,” but this is actually a fancy method of saying that it uses the Do Not Track standard, which isn’t as robust as it should be. The browser’s anti-fingerprinting capabilities are also limited and can only scramble a portion of your user agent string.
