ESET security review
ESET’s suite offers the most value-for-money. Its malware detection rate is close to being perfect and the suite includes an impressive array of additional features in a compact footprint. The Android package has an anti-theft function to help you find your lost phone. The premium version includes parental controls, a secure browser and a passcode manager. The features that protect networks such as a firewall and the option of how to install amd drivers scanning home devices for vulnerabilities, are beneficial.
One of the best is SysInspector, a useful tool that takes a picture of your system and highlights running processes as well as crucial Registry entries, and other information. It’s a bit daunting for newbies but if you’re accustomed to more advanced task managers such as those found in the Sysinternals process explorer, you’ll feel right at right at home.
Another feature that is great is the ability to schedule scans on demand. This is a nice alternative to real-time protection, which is quick and easy to accomplish. It’s just a shame ESET doesn’t group this with other scheduling tasks, and its UI makes it somewhat more difficult to locate than some of its competitors.
The password manager is easy to use and has numerous features. It’s an effective form filler that is suitable for online banking. The password manager is available in the premium version and requires a separate ESET account, however it works as well as other standalone options I’ve tried.
